Tech Spec

History

Major Lucky was once a standard 1987 Mk2 VW Golf Gti, in my ownership it has recieved many different heart transplants including, 1.8 8v, 1.8 16v, 1.8 G60 with Bahn Brenner Supercharger and currently 1.9 20v Turbo

Chassis

The VW Golf shell has been extensively lightend, with all removed forward of the firewall, and replaced with a custom spaceframe made by Rob at RNJMotorsport out of 4130 chromoly steel, it houses the 1g fuel cell and radiator

Covering the engine is another one off custom part, a complete 1 piece front end made out of fibreglass, with a couple of turns of the DUuz fasteners i have complete access to the whole engine bay.

       

The main cage inside the car was done by Jon Webster at Webster Race Engineering

Suspension is taken car of by a SPAX RSX coilover kit, set at the perfect height and damping for my kind of racing

Other features are, all windows made from lexan polycarbonate, lightweight Kirkey Race seat and TRS 5 point harnesses, single skinned doors and tailgate and reciently the car weighed in at 739kg's

All mapped on a Omex Standalone ECU system 

Also theres a Nitrous Oxide direct port kit with jets from 25bhp-150bhp but we'll see how testing goes first

Corrado G60 O2a Gearbox with APT Drag Spool and VR6 1st, 2nd and 5th Ratios

Fronts - 15"x 8" with 24.5 M&H Racemaster Slicks

Rear - 15"x 3.5" with M&H Front Runners
